WELCOME

Welcome to the loft

Please make yourself comfortable and stay awhile.

The game Private beta

Quill & Quarrel

A cozy head-to-head word duel for two. Each of you secretly picks a five-letter word for the other, then you take turns trying to crack it.

How a duel goes

  1. Pick a five-letter word for your opponent, and they pick one for you.
  2. Take turns guessing. You each get seven tries.
  3. Every mistake earns your opponent a power-up, so choose your guesses wisely.
Play now

Invite code needed, so ask the friend who sent you. The game wakes up when you arrive, so the first load can take up to 30 seconds.

Say hello

Contact

We're a small studio and we'd love to hear how your games go.

Feedback on the game

The quickest way to reach us is inside the game: tap the BETA badge and leave a note. Tell us what you were doing and what device you were on, and we'll take it from there.

Everything else

A public contact address is on its way. Until then, the friend who invited you can pass a message along.

Found a bug?

A short description helps most: what you tapped, what you expected, and what happened instead.

The fine print

Privacy & the beta

What we keep

Your display name, a random ID stored in your browser, and any feedback or error reports sent to us. No email addresses, no passwords, no ads, and nothing sold.

Beta profiles can reset

Profiles and stats are held in memory while the beta runs, so they may reset when we update or restart the game.

House rules

The beta is a work in progress, offered as it is. Please be kind to other players and keep your invite code within the group.

A full privacy policy and terms will be published before the game opens to the public.

On the shelf

Coming to the loft

A few ideas we're tinkering with. No promises on timing.

  • Accounts, so your stats and history stay with you
  • Phone apps for iPhone and Android
  • More ways to play, like daily duels, a chaotic power-up mode, and a classic mode with no power-ups

A note about the art

The artwork and sounds in this beta, including everything on this site, are AI-generated placeholders, here for testing only. They will all be replaced with human-made art and sound for the official launch.

Thanks for stopping by. Stay as long as you like.
